Gas Lighting has been around since the late 1700's when William Murdock, a British Engineer used gas to light his Redruth home and later on his factory. In January 28, 1807, Pall Mall, London became the first city with gas street lighting and quickly, other cities where following suit, Baltimore in 1816 and Paris in 1820. The introduction of Gas lighting opened the door for other industries and inventions like Natural Gas and stoves that worked on gas.
